The Urban Learning Bachelor of Arts program serves as a comprehensive Integrated Elementary Subject Matter Preparation Program, equipping future educators with modern urban teaching methods and culturally aware, sustaining, and re-rooting instructional approaches for diverse elementary (K-6) or special education (K-12 or birth-22) settings. This interdisciplinary major blends urban learning as a societal concept with elementary subject coursework and teacher training, culminating in either: a) a Multiple Subject credential for elementary education, b) an Education Specialist credential in one of four special education fields, or c) dual credentials for both elementary and special education (mild to moderate support needs). To graduate, students must fulfill all major and credential requirements for their selected path, completing between 120-135 units.
