The Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders (or equivalent qualification) provides foundational knowledge for students aiming to pursue graduate studies in this field, specializing in either audiology or speech-language pathology. [In California and most other states, a master's degree serves as the minimum requirement for Speech Language Pathology, while a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) is required for the Audiology specialization. This program also offers valuable preparation for graduate studies in special education, deaf education, medicine, and related fields. Transfer students should meet with a department advisor promptly. Individuals with undergraduate degrees in other fields may apply to the Speech-Language Master's Preparatory Certificate Program.
