The Bachelor of Arts (BA) program offers a comprehensive liberal arts education. The Art BA curriculum allows students to explore diverse art and design fields while specializing in one particular discipline. Earning an Art BA requires completing 120 units total, with 57 units dedicated to the major. Students should meet with an advisor to determine the exact unit requirements for their chosen specialization, including General Education (minimum 48 units) and elective courses. BA candidates must complete at least 40 upper-division units (courses numbered 3000-4990). Note that courses above 4990 are exclusively for graduate students and don't count toward undergraduate degrees. The Art History concentration examines artistic evolution across global civilizations, enhancing students' ability to analyze concepts within our worldwide cultural legacy.
