Educational leaders in TK-12 institutions fulfill diverse roles. Regardless of their specific position within a school system, every administrator should focus on promoting fair educational access and success for every learner. The EDAD program courses aim to develop leaders for this crucial mission, concentrating on: Analyzing school leadership responsibilities with strong focus on instructional guidance, Employing data to address practical challenges, Driving school enhancement for greater equity, Overseeing and directing organizational change, Partnering effectively with varied families and communities.
These EDAD program Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) align with California's Administrator Performance Expectations (CAPEs). Upon completing the program, EDAD candidates will:
Identify and address practical challenges through an equity-focused leadership approach
Support the creation and execution of a collective educational vision that benefits all learners (CAPE 1)
Foster a cooperative instructional environment guided by professional standards and dedicated to student and staff development (CAPE 2)
Utilize various data types to inform decisions that enhance learning results for every student
Organize school operations, including resources and staff, to maintain a secure, effective, and fair learning space (CAPE 3)
Work with families and community members to meet diverse needs and leverage local assets (CAPE 4)
Demonstrate professional conduct characterized by ethics, fairness, and integrity while expecting similar standards from staff (CAPE 5)
Address broader educational influences to advocate for improved policies and procedures (CAPE 6)
