This certificate program is tailored for students passionate about exploring law as both a cultural artifact and an area of scholarly analysis. It does not provide vocational training for paralegal careers. Students can obtain this certificate while pursuing any bachelor's or advanced degree, with applicable courses counting toward major, minor, credential, or general education requirements. A maximum of 12 units may overlap with the student's primary major.
The Legal Studies Certificate can be completed alongside or after obtaining a bachelor's degree from CSULB or another accredited university. Note that financial aid eligibility requires concurrent enrollment in a degree program.
