The Bachelor of Science program caters to students aiming for direct industry employment or pursuing advanced studies in physics or related disciplines. The Bachelor of Arts program suits those preparing for secondary-level physical science teaching careers, seeking a liberal arts education with a physics focus, or engineers pursuing a dual major. The Department provides graduate programs culminating in a Master of Science degree, including specialized tracks in applied physics and computational physics, as well as a Professional Physics Master's. A select number of teaching and graduate assistantships are offered to master's candidates, with applications submitted to the Department Chair. This program emphasizes materials physics and their practical applications, ideal for careers in industry, government, or further graduate study. The curriculum comprises roughly 72 major units, split between 32 lower-division and 40 upper-division courses.
