The Religious Studies program cultivates students' analytical comprehension of religious phenomena within their cultural and historical frameworks while fostering appreciation for diverse value systems. This curriculum offers foundational knowledge about principal world religions and contemporary religious practices. Recognizing religion's pervasive influence across societies, the program particularly highlights connections between spiritual aspects of life and disciplines like humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The 36-unit Religious Studies major comprises three focus areas: A. Culture, Gender, and Ethics; B. Judaism, Christianity, Islam and their Historical Roots; and C. Indigenous, Hindu, Buddhist, and Other Eastern Traditions. Students are also required to complete three core courses: R/ST 100, 302, and 401.
