History B.A. students will develop foundational abilities in research, writing, and presentations. The History Department provides numerous scholarships and awards to exceptional students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Details about these yearly honors can be obtained by contacting the Department office before spring semester begins. Both undergraduate and graduate students can participate in the Department's facilitator program, earning major credits - applications are available through Department staff. Qualified students may also secure graduate assistantships or readerships. The Department actively seeks top-performing students for induction into Phi Alpha Theta, the national History honor society. Graduate programs leading to a Master of Arts degree are available through the History Department. Students must adhere to both the general catalog requirements and specific departmental guidelines outlined in the M.A. brochure, which can be requested from the Department office.
