The History Department provides a Bachelor of Arts program designed to equip students for diverse career paths in business, government, and education, as well as advanced studies in history, law, library science, business, or related fields. Our curriculum showcases the faculty's wide-ranging expertise, and we urge students to explore our extensive course selection.
This degree presents numerous opportunities to go beyond standard classroom learning. Spring break study abroad programs are available, with the Holocaust in France being a particularly sought-after option. Participants visit Paris and follow the journey of French Jews to Auschwitz. Full-semester study abroad programs at international universities are also offered. Hands-on internship opportunities at museums, historical/archaeological sites, and libraries provide practical experience and valuable professional connections.
Earning a history degree develops essential research and analytical abilities applicable to various professions. Career options include secondary education teaching, historical research for government or corporate entities, archival work, museum curation, and military service.
