This program prepares students to become linguists skilled in both signed and spoken languages and their cultural contexts. Participants will explore diverse signed and spoken languages and their associated cultures, both within the United States and internationally. The curriculum emphasizes developing fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), ensuring graduates achieve both linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding. Additionally, the program enhances students' English language skills. As trained linguists, graduates will possess the ability to analyze any global language, conduct original research, and critically evaluate existing linguistic studies in their specialization.
