The Master of Science in Physics program enhances and broadens students' understanding of core physics principles and their practical uses. This program readies graduates for physics and astronomy PhD programs, as well as for career opportunities or advancement in government or industry roles demanding specialized physics expertise. Qualification Requirements
Applicants must have a degree from an accredited college or university with a major in physics or closely related field (students with majors other than physics may be admitted with deficiencies).
Applicants are also required to:
submit a one-page, 500-word maximum, typed statement of purpose, explaining the student's interest in taking a higher degree in physics,
submit three letters of recommendation,
take the physics portion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) if the applicant is an international student or student without a degree in physics
Official Transcripts are required from the university where the bachelor's degree is earned. Submit a word-for-word certified English translation along with the Official original-language transcripts.
Have earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.5 from the last degree completed by the candidate or have attained a grade-point average of at least 2.5 (A=4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.
