The Master of Science in Counseling program holds approval from the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), fulfilling all educational prerequisites for students pursuing licensure as either Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC). Additionally, it carries national accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). This curriculum focuses on developing skilled clinicians capable of addressing community needs through both short-term and extended evidence-based counseling approaches, while firmly establishing their professional roles as counselors and marriage/family therapists. With a strong commitment to multicultural awareness, the program equips future counselors to effectively serve diverse populations, respecting varied ethnic backgrounds, religious traditions, lifestyles, and unique individual and family circumstances.
