The Master of Fine Arts in Art offers an intensive studio-based curriculum designed for dedicated, accountable, and gifted students. The program and faculty push participants to concentrate on developing into professional artists. The M.F.A. curriculum enables specialized study through an approved plan in these focus areas: ceramics, crafts (encompassing jewelry/metalsmithing and woodworking), creative photography and experimental media, drawing and painting (including printmaking), exhibition design, glass, graphic design, illustration, and sculpture. Recognized by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1974, the Art Department provides programs covering: academic disciplines like art history, theory, analysis and criticism; studio practices including ceramics, game art, animation and immersive media, creative photography and experimental media, drawing and painting (including printmaking), entertainment arts and animation, exhibition design, glass, graphic and interactive design, illustration, jewelry and metals, and sculpture; plus the specialized teaching field of art education.
