The Master of Arts in Art program blends academic learning with hands-on training for individuals pursuing careers in visual arts or advanced graduate studies. Students can specialize in various disciplines: art history, ceramics, crafts (encompassing jewelry/metalsmithing and woodworking), creative photography, drawing and painting (including printmaking), exhibition design, glasswork, graphic design, illustration, and sculpture. The Department of Art, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1974, provides comprehensive programs covering: scholarly pursuits like art history, theory, analysis, and criticism; studio practices including ceramics, game art, animation, immersive media, creative photography, experimental media, drawing and painting (with printmaking), entertainment arts and animation, exhibition design, glasswork, graphic and interactive design, illustration, jewelry and metalsmithing, and sculpture; as well as art education and teaching credentials.
