The Master of Arts in Art program blends academic learning with hands-on practice, ideal for those pursuing careers in visual arts or advanced graduate studies. Students can specialize in various disciplines: art history, ceramics, crafts (woodworking, jewelry/metalsmithing), creative photography, drawing and painting (including printmaking), exhibition design, glasswork, graphic design, illustration, and sculpture. The Department of Art, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1974, provides comprehensive programs covering art history, theory, and criticism, alongside studio practices like ceramics, game art, animation, experimental media, entertainment arts, interactive design, jewelry/metalsmithing, and sculpture, as well as art education for teaching credentials.
