The Bachelor of Science in Health Science program features a foundational core of five essential courses that equip students with crucial knowledge and skills for healthcare professions. Students then select a specialized course cluster within their chosen concentration, offering comprehensive training in their selected field. While multiple concentration combinations are available to align with career objectives, university regulations permit only one concentration to be officially recorded on academic documents.

To earn the B.S. in Health Science, students must fulfill 48 units of General Education requirements, complete a 15-unit health science core tailored to their concentration, select one of three available concentrations (21-27 units), and meet additional concentration-specific requirements (11-33 units). The program also includes upper-division writing proficiency, Multicultural and International (M/I) components, and elective courses. Completing prerequisite courses before major coursework is advisable, as these often satisfy General Education requirements while establishing fundamental knowledge for health science studies. Electives may also be applied toward certificate programs.

Health science majors should obtain an academic roadmap from their department, which outlines all required coursework. Strict adherence to the roadmap's course sequence is highly recommended. Students must regularly consult with academic advisors regarding major and minor course selections, with all course substitutions requiring departmental chair approval. Note that certain Health Science Department courses may include practical field assignments.
