The Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for agricultural careers while pursuing degrees in Animal Science or Agricultural Education. Within the Department of Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education, students can choose from degree options including Agricultural Communication, Teacher Preparation, and multiple Animal Science specializations. The Animal Science track provides focused career paths in Pre-Professional Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine, while the production management option covers Dairy Science, Equine Science, Meat Technology, plus Livestock and Poultry Management. Our comprehensive Animal Science program covers diverse subjects like animal assessment, behavior, genetics, health, reproduction, environmental stewardship, marketing, muscle biology, nutrition, and physiology.
The Agricultural Education degree prepares graduates for roles in agricultural communications or as high school agriculture instructors. Available concentrations include agricultural business, animal sciences, plant sciences, and mechanized agriculture.
Have graduated from high school (earning a high school diploma), have earned a Certificate of General Education Development (GED) or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
