The Outdoor Leadership program is designed for students passionate about working in nature and creating opportunities for personal growth, recreation, and safe outdoor exploration. This program prepares students for professional careers through three key phases:
1. Building or enhancing wilderness survival skills for both summer and winter conditions, meeting industry standards
2. Gaining expertise in designing, teaching, and directing outdoor adventure programs
3. Acquiring knowledge to oversee outdoor recreation and education organizations
Graduates with an Outdoor Leadership focus can pursue various career paths, including positions with renowned organizations like Outward Bound or NOLS, roles with government recreation departments, employment with private guiding services for activities like whitewater rafting or mountain climbing, instructional positions at adventure education centers, or even launching their own outdoor adventure enterprises.
