The physics program delivers education in contemporary physics principles, establishing a groundwork for advanced studies typically required for research careers. This curriculum also serves as a strong preparation for various applied disciplines. An accelerated sophomore-level course (covering waves, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics) is available for aspiring physics majors, while mandatory junior-year classes provide comprehensive coverage of core concepts. Upperclassmen can pursue specialized interests through elective courses, ranging from broad overviews to focused studies on cutting-edge research topics. Laboratory options are available at multiple difficulty levels.
