The Engineering and Applied Science (EAS) program focuses on design (synthesis) as a fundamental component of every engineer's skillset, preparing students for research and professional careers in a time of fast-evolving interdisciplinary technology. The EAS program enables students to explore diverse fields in science and technology, with specializations available in computation and neural systems, and materials science. Furthermore, it provides the flexibility for students to create a personalized curriculum that maintains the breadth, depth, and academic rigor of the established concentrations. The program's objective is to integrate specialized knowledge in a specific engineering field with a solid foundation in basic and engineering sciences, complemented by laboratory work and design projects that lead to a culminating capstone design experience. It aims to foster professional autonomy, innovation, leadership abilities, and a lifelong commitment to professional and intellectual development.
