CBU established the Christian behavioral science major to explore how biblical principles intersect with insights from behavioral sciences, offering students a uniquely Christian framework for understanding human behavior. The Christian behavioral science curriculum at CBU blends psychology, anthropology, sociology, and political science with theological studies. This program equips individuals for engagement in a secularizing society, training them to navigate a diverse world while maintaining a Christian perspective.
Graduates earning a bachelor's degree in Christian behavioral science will gain the ability to:
Exhibit core understanding of psychology, anthropology, sociology, and theology, encompassing key historical theories, terminology, research methodologies, and their societal impacts.
Develop critical thinking abilities and analytical techniques for evaluating evidence, solving problems (both reflectively and analytically), distinguishing between behavioral science theories and theology versus pseudoscience/anecdotal claims, and differentiating cultural religious views from biblical teachings.
Cultivate strong writing capabilities by identifying relevant sources and databases to research and compose literature reviews covering aspects of anthropology, psychology, and sociology.
