Students in the RAM program concentrate on cross-disciplinary research of religious traditions across the ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern regions. By selecting both a primary specialization and a complementary secondary focus, learners analyze ancient belief systems contemporaneously, exploring their development and roles within societal, intellectual, and political frameworks. Academic options include concentrations in Israelite faith, Judean traditions (Judaism) spanning from the fifth century BCE to the first century CE, later Judean practices (including rabbinic studies and Hellenistic diaspora communities), Hellenic worship systems, Roman cultic practices, formative Christianity (first-fourth centuries CE), late antique Christian developments (fourth-seventh centuries CE), and early Islamic traditions.
