The health services research doctoral program provides education in research methodologies to enhance understanding of factors influencing public health. This includes examining healthcare system structures, provider dynamics, economic factors affecting consumer and provider decisions, and the policy framework governing these interactions. The skill-focused curriculum equips students with robust analytical skills and a broad perspective on health services research. Participants can specialize in pharmaceutical health services, organizational sociology, health economics, or pursue a comprehensive health services research path.
Admission is open to those with and without relevant post college training although those with a master’s degree or relevant doctoral training are preferred. Regardless of disciplinary background, only applicants with a relevant master’s degree may petition to transfer credits to count toward the doctoral degree
Regarding TOEFL, the recommended minimum score for admission consideration is 577 on the paper-based test and 90 on the Internet-based test. For IELTS, the recommended minimum overall band score is 7.
