Collaborating with distinguished faculty experts, our doctoral candidates pursue innovative research, securing competitive fellowships and accolades. Post-graduation, they make significant impacts across science, education, cultural spheres, and local communities, achieving recognition in both academic and professional sectors. (They occasionally engage in lighthearted rubber chicken antics.) Our program provides top-tier computer science research and training within a cross-disciplinary setting: a more favorable student-to-faculty ratio compared to similar institutions, comprehensive five-year funding covering nine months annually (including full tuition, healthcare benefits, and a substantial living stipend), teaching opportunities for those wishing to develop instructional abilities, shared workspaces with views of Brown's picturesque grounds, and involvement in key committees along with event planning responsibilities for seminars and special occasions.
Graduates of non-U.S. colleges and universities who have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree may apply for admission to the Brown University Graduate School.
Regarding TOEFL, the recommended minimum score for admission consideration is 577 on the paper-based test and 90 on the Internet-based test. For IELTS, the recommended minimum overall band score is 7.
