The Fluids and Thermal Sciences research group explores diverse disciplines and applications, spanning fundamental fluid dynamics, heat transfer, micro/nanofluidics, complex fluids, biotechnology, acoustics, thermodynamics, and energy systems. Employing theoretical, experimental, and computational approaches, the FTS Group examines various fluid dynamical systems and physical phenomena. Their work prioritizes deep comprehension of fundamental principles while maintaining focus on real-world applications, industrial relevance, and commercialization potential.
Faculty and students within the Fluids and Thermal Sciences Group represent multiple disciplines including mechanical, biomedical, and chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, and physical chemistry. The FTS Group fosters strong collaborations across the School of Engineering, Physics, Biology and Medicine, Evolutionary Biology, Applied Mathematics, and Computer Science departments.
