The Sc.B. program in Social Analysis and Research, recognized as a STEM discipline, offers both theoretical foundations and practical skills in social research methodologies for academic and professional settings. This program's core consists of an intensive curriculum: (1) teaching the fundamental principles of data gathering and interpretation, and (2) preparing students to implement sophisticated statistical methods for data examination. These competencies are further strengthened through hands-on research opportunities with Sociology professors and/or practical experiences with local businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Students should complete secondary school. Brown first-year students will have completed 12 to 13 years of primary and secondary schooling.
A TOEFL score of 100 or above on the internet-based exam, or 600 or above on the paper-based exam, or a score of 8.0 or above on the IELTS, is expected in most cases.
