The Master of Arts in Biostatistics follows the Brown Graduate School's framework for specialized Master's programs, including the Fifth-Year Master's option for Brown undergraduates and the Open Graduate Education Program for Brown doctoral candidates. This program is exclusively available to current Brown students.
Brown undergraduates can pursue a one-year accelerated Master's (AM) degree after earning their bachelor's. The AM program also welcomes Brown graduate students seeking a secondary master's through the University's Open Graduate Education (OGE) initiative. This Fifth-Year pathway enables Brown undergraduates to remain at the University for an AM degree post-graduation. Applicants to this accelerated program follow standard Master's application processes, excluding GRE requirements. Fifth-year students must complete their AM degree within one year. Before entering the Master's program, candidates must complete two qualifying courses (listed below). Prospective students should apply via SOPHAS Express for the Biostatistics program while still completing their undergraduate degree.
