This program integrates the exploration of dramatic literature, theater history, performance studies, and hands-on studio practice across theatrical disciplines. Students pursuing Theatre Arts will acquire practical skills in acting, directing, and technical production, while completing coursework in either dance or speech. The curriculum emphasizes immersive learning in performance techniques—from acting and choreography to design and dramaturgy—to illuminate connections between societal contexts, dramatic works, and stage productions. Alongside skill development, graduates will have examined global theater history and performance theory, including at least one course extending beyond conventional Euro-American frameworks. Theater history equips concentrators with foundational knowledge of diverse dramatic traditions, while performance theory cultivates critical inquiry into theater's societal, political, and intercultural significance.
