The International Relations Honors Program provides exceptional IR concentrators the chance to conduct innovative research and craft a thesis addressing a critical global challenge as their culminating academic endeavor. Designed for students deeply engaged with international affairs, this rigorous program invites participants to tackle the demanding process of producing a senior thesis. Throughout their final year, honors candidates collaborate closely with two faculty mentors while completing dedicated thesis coursework. The IR Honors Program requires significant intellectual commitment and time investment, as participants are expected to dedicate considerable portions of their senior year to thesis development. Prospective candidates should present a record of rigorous IR coursework and substantial preparation in their chosen research area (potentially including study abroad experiences). The program mandates advanced foreign language proficiency, which students must employ in their thesis work through interviews and analysis of primary sources like academic journals.
