Students pursuing Earth, Climate, and Biology studies integrate concepts from geology, biology, chemistry, and physics to examine how Earth's key systems—like its atmosphere and oceans—interact with and support life across different time periods
Numerous courses focus on climate change, environmental health, and biogeochemistry, making this concentration ideal for environmentally-minded students. Additional study areas explore Earth's history, covering topics like climate shifts, mass extinctions, and analyzing sedimentary records to understand environmental transformations.
The program offers both A.B. and Sc.B. degrees, requiring 12 and 19 courses respectively. These programs develop crucial skills in analytical reasoning, data interpretation and modeling, solving multifaceted problems, and effective communication. DEEPS fosters a cooperative educational setting that prioritizes experiential, practical learning through classroom instruction, laboratory work, and field excursions.
