The Humanities Track examines the roots and evolution of contemplative practices across various religious, cultural, and historical settings, providing students with essential knowledge in Philosophy of Mind as it relates to the scientific investigation of contemplation. Intermediate and Advanced coursework focuses on these key disciplines: Philosophy of Mind and Contemplative Religious Traditions. Under exceptional circumstances, students may pursue specializations in Contemplative Creative Arts within this track. The Contemplative Studies concentration delves into the philosophical, psychological, and scientific foundations of human contemplative experiences. Through an academic lens, students employ humanities and scientific methodologies to examine the cultural, historical, and scientific aspects of contemplative practices in religion, arts, music, and literature. This academic perspective is complemented by hands-on engagement with contemplative techniques, fostering a comprehensive understanding of how contemplative thought and experience shape both societies and individuals.
