The Applied Mathematics-Economics program is structured to align with the quantitative foundations of contemporary economic theory and research. This program offers two specialized paths. The first, the advanced economics path, equips students for graduate-level economics studies. The second, the mathematical finance path, prepares students for finance-related graduate programs or careers in financial engineering. Both paths are available as A.B. or Sc.B. degree options, including a Professional track. Core mathematical competencies in Applied Mathematics draw from diverse fields relevant to specific applications: differential equations (both ordinary and partial), matrix algebra, statistics, probability theory, decision analysis, and risk assessment. This discipline attracts individuals with varied interests, from those seeking strong quantitative skills for professional advancement to those fascinated by the methodologies themselves. The standard program culminates in either an A.B. or Sc.B. degree.
