This intimate two-year MFA program awards degrees in fiction, playwriting, and poetry. It features specialized and cross-genre workshops, literature courses, small-group reading sessions, and personalized tutorials, all fostering close connections between students and distinguished faculty. Participants can contribute to The Brooklyn Review literary journal and present their work at public events across Brooklyn and Manhattan. The program provides fellowship opportunities, awards, and the chance to teach undergraduate English courses. Our selective two-year MFA program grants degrees in creative writing, specializing in fiction, poetry, or playwriting. Students engage in genre-specific and interdisciplinary workshops, literary studies, tutorial groups, and individual mentoring with accomplished faculty. Additional opportunities include working with The Brooklyn Review, performing at public venues in New York City, competing for prizes, and potentially securing a winter residency at Washington's Espy Foundation. Qualified students may also instruct undergraduate English courses.
