The Master of Science program enhances the fundamental knowledge gained during undergraduate studies, fostering advanced expertise in specialized fields. This graduate-level curriculum equips students with cutting-edge capabilities to tackle complex professional challenges.
Students can choose between two MS pathways: Thesis or Project.
A thesis aims to push boundaries in the field, whereas a project focuses on practical applications of existing knowledge. Thesis outcomes typically merit publication in academic journals or conferences, while project results may not always meet publication standards. Thesis work earns 6 academic credits compared to 3 credits for projects, and thesis researchers often secure funding more readily. Both options require evaluation by a three-member faculty committee, though thesis defenses involve formal presentations to this panel while projects are usually shared in graduate seminars. The standards for written quality and oral delivery remain equally rigorous for both thesis and project work.
