The BYU psychology doctoral programs feature an interdisciplinary emphasis in health psychology, a rapidly expanding field that explores the interplay between mental processes and physical well-being. Health psychology professionals engage in both research and clinical practice to enhance overall health outcomes. This specialized track is available to students in both the general Psychology PhD and Clinical Psychology PhD programs (excluding clinical training components). While maintaining their primary focus in their chosen specialization (such as clinical, social, developmental, or behavioral neuroscience), participants complete supplementary coursework, practical training, and research projects to prepare for careers in health psychology.
