Brigham Young University's Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) program provides former BYU students who have taken a break from their studies and cannot return to campus with a chance to complete their degree remotely. To qualify, applicants need to have earned at least 30 credit hours as enrolled day students at BYU's Provo campus. Participants must follow the BYU Honor Code and obtain yearly ecclesiastical endorsements. Refer to Admission Requirements and About BYU Ecclesiastical Endorsements for details. Current BYU students with under 90 credits (excluding exam credits) are ineligible for this program.
Complete 27 hours of on-campus coursework.
Finish at least 10 credit hours in your chosen emphasis area after being officially admitted to the BGS program.
Out of the required 120 credit hours, 30 must be upper-division courses (300-level or higher), including 15 within the emphasis area.
Maintain minimum 2.0 GPAs in BYU coursework, overall cumulative grades, and emphasis area courses.
