The American Studies program explores the breadth of American life, culture, and society through multiple lenses including literature, history, gender studies, humanities, regional perspectives, politics, ethnic communities, geography, arts, economics, religion, and folklore. Foundational courses offer diverse approaches to understanding the American narrative. Students cultivate expertise in writing, literary analysis, historical investigation, and socio-political-economic evaluation. This interdisciplinary curriculum connects learners with distinguished scholars while fostering comprehensive academic growth.
Program Objectives
Graduates of American Studies will develop critical reading skills to examine cultural, economic, historical, literary, political, social, and religious materials. They'll learn to assess and integrate relevant research while engaging with scholarly discourse.
