Heller's Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence (COEX) Program prepares students to become skilled peacebuilding professionals. Since conflict manifests in diverse ways, developing the capacity to navigate disputes, find resolutions, and identify constructive solutions has never been more essential. Through this program, you'll acquire both the analytical frameworks and practical skills necessary to grasp the nuanced dynamics of conflict transformation, enabling you to facilitate reconciliation among individuals, groups, communities, and nations.
Our COEX master's curriculum provides comprehensive training in modern conflict prevention theories while equipping students with professional competencies to develop and execute effective intervention strategies.
The 56-credit program structure consists of one academic year of on-campus study (32 credits), followed by six months of field experience (12 credits) culminating in either an internship report, research paper, or thesis (12 credits). This carefully designed progression helps students cultivate skills for promoting collaboration across divided communities and nations. The program's interdisciplinary methodology integrates insights from social psychology, global affairs, sociology, legal studies, anthropology, and cultural analysis.
