The discipline of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies (NEJS) spans a vast and intricate landscape, covering diverse religions, civilizations, political systems, languages, and literary traditions while requiring both geographical and historical understanding. Exploring the Near East in its full complexity provides valuable perspectives on numerous influences that have molded Western civilization.

Whether examining Islamic history or contemporary Israel, from antiquity to the present-day Middle East, from Christian traditions to Rabbinic Judaism, or from Yiddish to Arabic, the NEJS program presents a multifaceted approach to understanding this field. Our methodology embraces multiple academic perspectives, incorporating textual analysis, historical research, social sciences, philosophical inquiry, religious studies, and artistic expressions.

Beyond developing analytical skills for studying primary sources, the interdisciplinary nature of NEJS equips students for diverse professional paths such as community leadership, educational roles (both secular and religious), scholarly research, political advising, creative fields, corporate sectors, legal practice, and healthcare. Numerous graduates continue their NEJS education in top-tier doctoral programs worldwide.
