Bradley's English education program equips you for the Illinois Professional Educator's License in Secondary Education, specializing in English language arts.
Starting your first year, you'll engage in classroom field experiences, with progressively advanced placements during sophomore and junior years. These culminate in a senior-year student teaching placement. Throughout this journey, you'll receive guidance from Bradley faculty and supervising teachers as mentors. English department professors will provide comprehensive training in language, literature, and composition.
Our teacher education program holds accreditation from both the Illinois State Board of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, along with membership in the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The secondary education program earns national recognition from leading organizations including the National Council for the Social Studies, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, National Science Teachers Association, and National Council of Teachers of English.
