The ceramics program offers an artistic education combining theory and hands-on experience. This comprehensive approach helps you develop a distinctive ceramic style through form, color, and texture.
As a studio art student, you'll explore creativity through courses in art history, drawing, and digital media. While establishing this base, you'll also take ceramics classes covering hand-building techniques, wheel throwing, glaze application, and kiln firing methods using both electric and gas kilns.
The ceramics degree offers three options: B.A., B.S., or B.F.A. The B.A. and B.S. focus on liberal arts, while the B.F.A. serves as the professional track, featuring intensive studio work in your chosen medium. To expand your career possibilities, you can combine ceramics with another major or minor.
