The elementary education program equips you for the Illinois Professional Educator's License in Elementary Education, enabling you to teach grades 1 through 6. This program also incorporates an English as a Second Language endorsement, qualifying you to instruct English Language Learners.
Your first year includes classroom field experiences, followed by more advanced placements during sophomore and junior years. These progressively prepare you for the culminating student teaching experience in your senior year. Throughout this journey, Bradley faculty and supervising teachers serve as invaluable mentors.
Notably, Bradley holds the distinction of being Illinois' first university to integrate the ESL endorsement into its early childhood, elementary, middle school, and special education programs. This unique feature increases your marketability to school districts, especially as English Language Learners represent one of Illinois' most rapidly expanding student populations.
