The Music Performance program equips aspiring professional musicians and educators with exceptional instrumental and vocal training, integrated into a well-rounded undergraduate education. Students receive personalized instruction from accomplished artist-teachers, helping them master their primary instrument (including strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, guitar, piano, or voice), while extensive ensemble participation offers valuable performance opportunities and exposure to diverse musical repertoire. Targeted courses cultivate essential skills in music theory, composition, stylistic interpretation, and performance techniques that distinguish professional musicians and educators. The department offers specialized performance instruction and coursework for music majors and minors, as well as for qualified students university-wide.
