With 400 hours of guided research, Boston University's STEM-designated MS in Translation and Implementation Science is a 34-credit program equipping students for research careers in academia, consulting, government, healthcare institutions, private sector organizations, or doctoral studies. This Master of Science program provides comprehensive training in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Operating under the Population Health Research program, participants develop skills to create evidence-driven interventions that deliver lasting health improvements.

Program alumni acquire expertise in implementation science research, theories of organizational change, and community-based research methods. The demanding curriculum explores how to systematically apply research outcomes while addressing obstacles to large-scale adoption.

This master's program transforms conventional approaches to public health policy. By emphasizing strategic methodologies, it empowers public health professionals and policymakers to perform actionable, research-backed investigations and create solutions enhancing healthcare quality, efficacy, and operational efficiency.

The program combines cutting-edge Translation and Implementation Science concepts with research techniques, practical experience, faculty-guided investigations, and professional networking opportunities throughout Boston and other regions.

Upon completion, graduates will be prepared to:

Assess research literature with critical analysis.
Develop comprehensive data collection and management strategies.
Interpret and integrate research outcomes to shape policy decisions and recommendations.

Students can finish the MS in Translation and Implementation Science in just 12 months of full-time enrollment. All participants, regardless of enrollment status, start in July and must complete two foundational courses: Essentials of Population Health Research (online) and an intensive two-week Accelerated Training in Statistical Computing in late August.
