The MAMS/MHCBM dual degree program spans three years and comprises 83 credit units. This unique curriculum allows students to merge comprehensive Medical Sciences training with specialized education in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine, featuring an emphasis on neuroscience. Graduates receive two master's degrees upon finishing the program.
Typically completed in three years, the MAMS/MHCBM program may occasionally be finished in 2.5 years, though this accelerated pace isn't standard. The schedule includes summer coursework.
Beyond classroom instruction, students cultivate medical research expertise through thesis work while gaining hands-on clinical experience. Program completion qualifies graduates for mental health counseling licensure and awards two degrees: a Master of Science in Medical Sciences and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine.
