The Master of Science (MS) program in Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) is designed for graduating seniors seeking advanced studies in this field.
The College of Engineering provides flexible master's programs that allow students to customize their education through interdisciplinary specializations and practical experiences. Program length varies based on individual academic goals, with part-time enrollment available.
Thesis-track students must submit a proposal by their second semester. These students fulfill practicum requirements through focused research culminating in a written thesis, typically completing the program within two years. Outstanding MSE MS students may qualify for the post-MS PhD program. Concentration areas include: i) biomaterials, ii) electronic/photonic materials, iii) energy/environmental materials, or iv) nanomaterials.
