Our juris doctor program blends an intensive academic curriculum with hands-on training in essential legal skills. With small class sizes and clinical opportunities featuring low faculty-to-student ratios, you'll receive individualized attention throughout your legal education. Graduates of our JD program will master both substantive and procedural law while developing crucial abilities in legal analysis, research, problem-solving, and professional communication. You'll also gain a deep understanding of legal ethics and acquire vital professional skills including collaboration, client counseling, and negotiation techniques.

The BU Law juris doctor degree requires completion of 85 credits through our full-time program spanning three academic years.

Today's legal employers, from solo practices to large firms, demand new attorneys who can identify legal and business risks in client transactions and draft effective agreements. Through our Transactional Practice concentration, you'll develop practical skills in document drafting, contract analysis, negotiation strategies, due diligence processes, and transaction closings - giving you a competitive advantage when launching your legal career.
