The Design, Production & Management programs equip dedicated students with the skills needed for professional theater careers and related performing arts fields. The program cultivates students as theater artists, emphasizing teamwork, creativity, analytical reasoning, communication abilities, troubleshooting, verbal feedback, and career readiness.
Throughout the Bachelor of Fine Arts program, core courses follow a structured progression of classroom activities and practical production experiences. Students pursuing the BFA in Theatre with a Scene Design concentration at Boston University explore their identity, strengths, and potential. They evolve into collaborative theater artists who convey meaningful narratives to modern audiences while thriving under professional demands. Crucially, they develop their unique artistic voice. The training combines intensive coursework, production involvement, and industry exposure. Working professionals mentor students through studio classes, hands-on production guidance, and semester-end evaluations.
