During their junior year (sixth semester of enrollment), undergraduate students can apply for a dual-degree program that fulfills both BA and MA requirements by the end of the academic year following their senior year. Program specifics, including our Regulations and Admission Application, are available on the department's website.

The BA/MA program aims to give outstanding undergraduates the chance to explore philosophy more deeply than the standard BA major allows, enabling them to earn a master's degree from Boston University before pursuing a PhD elsewhere. This program fosters ongoing mentorship with faculty advisors while helping students develop a structured foundation in philosophy. Although the department may exceptionally consider PhD applications from BA/MA candidates, most students continue their doctoral studies at other institutions after completing the combined degree.

Program Goals
Achieve both the BA and MA learning objectives set by the Department of Philosophy.
