This program provides students with comprehensive knowledge of various religious traditions, including their doctrines, sacred writings, rituals, and historical evolution within Greco-Roman civilization, particularly examining how Greek and Roman spiritual concepts interacted with Judaism and Christianity. Learners develop skills to interpret, evaluate, and contextualize religious texts (in English translation) from ancient and subsequent eras within their cultural frameworks. The combined Classics & Religion curriculum enables students to examine religion as both a societal and intellectual phenomenon across different historical periods. It serves as strong preparation for advanced study in mythology, historical research, religious studies, theological inquiry, and related humanities fields.
